ECHONET Lite パケットレコーダー egREC
ECHONET Lite packet recorder that captures smart home traffic and uploads to Google Drive for remote analysis.
egREC is a dedicated ECHONET Lite packet recorder focused on UDP port 3610 traffic—the lifeblood of many Japanese smart-home installations. It captures PCAP traces, gzip-compresses them hourly, and can push automatically to Google Drive, which turns field debugging into something analysts can pick up without traveling to the site.
The workflow is intentionally PC-less at the edge: deploy the recorder, ensure DHCP and internet access, and let uploads bridge organizations in near real time. That design matches telework-era expectations—security and integration partners can review the same capture without sneaker-netting USB sticks.
Local USB memory backup remains available when cloud egress is undesirable or intermittent. Because output stays Wireshark-compatible PCAP, downstream analysis stays in familiar tools rather than a proprietary silo. For integrators who need trustworthy, shareable evidence of on-site ECHONET behavior, egREC is the capture appliance built around remote collaboration as a first-class requirement.
